How about Stronghold Crusader Definitive Edition?

Recommended Posts

Hey, guys, check this out?

Age of Empires Definitive Edition

It looks really cool to me, and in the matter of fact - far batter than many of those HD editions of many games, even Stronghold Crusader. I mean, this isn't only about enabling higher resolutions, and making the game to look better on wide screens and laptops, this is, as they say, almost all new or remastered textures, and improved mechanics. At least so they say.

So then I though, it would be awesome to have a Definitive Edition of Stronghold Crusader, and Stronghold 1. What do you think? There is some room for improvements.

For example, they could make easier to make walls in more than just four directions. It could be done so that, when one builds a wall from point A to point B, the wall wouldn't be made out of two segments with two different directions, but it would be made with much more breaks. So that way one would be able to easily make a castle similar to Wazir's for example. They wouldn't have to make in many steps building two by two blocks, but they could make it in three steps.

Maybe even troops could move in similar way, though this may not be necessary if they couldn't make it without looking ugly. We wouldn't like to see soldiers changing their direction after every two steps.

Plus, what we have always wanted - bigger maps!

This is what could be done more easily, but what I would love to have even more is almost the exact copy of Stronghold Crusader or Stronghold 1 (but with AI lords), but with better graphics, improved mechanics as I have described above, and in 2D, plus with unit collision. Empire Earth 1 is a 2D game with unit collision, so it shouldn't effect the performance.

Of course, this is yet another thread about what we would love to see, but after seeing these news about Age of Empires I just couldn't help myself. :D

    • Stronghold 2 War Campaign Discussion

I recently got a new computer, and I decided to give Stronghold 2 another go. I didn't play it a lot originally because I played the original and Crusader first, and I didn't really like the added complexity of Stronghold 2 at the time. Once you get into it though, it's fun in its own right. I've been playing through the war campaign, and I've gotten pretty far. Today I finished Chapter 11 (Treachery).   This level is really difficult at the beginning. I tried keeping the original layout at firs

    • Need Beta-testers for Stronghold Crusader Aiv Mod

Been working on a whole new AIV folder/mod for months, and probably spent more than 600 hours on it so far. More on the work on the AIV below. Need some testers for this AIV mod. I've made 8 new castles for each of the 16 characters, 128 new castles in total, and none of them are identical. There will be around 60 scenarios (30 from original trail and 30 from warchest trail) in total for you testers. I'll do the rest (some I've already done). I have a hard time doing it (everything), as I h
