You must choose your path very carefully, as it could easily lead to you losing the mission. The most straightforward path is directly ahead of you. This path is very lightly patrolled and there are no dragons there to attack you on the way to the castle. Make sure you send your crossbowmen in first, as they will easily take out the few pikemen in seconds. There is no time limit for this mission so you can take as long as you need to. Then all you need to do is take out a few more pikemen and head straight for the bridge. Some of the other routes are far longer, and far more dangerous. Once over the bridge, you can easily take out the final set of pikemen by the same luring technique using your crossbowmen.
Killing the archers is slightly harder. You should wait behind the large rock with your group of archers while they come, then while they move away again, send your archers up along with crossbowmen to support them. Capturing this "high ground" will help to gain a vantage point to siege the castle from, as well as a place to help you target archers better on the wall. Using this you can also target other patrolling troops such as the white wolves and men-at-arms below. Once you've captured that, the road to the gate now remains open. Move your troops next to the tree by itself and prepare to attack - the right side of the castle wall near the stairwell.
Send your swordsmen and pikemen in first, then your crossbowmen followed by your archers and laddermen - apart from two or three. You need those for the second wall to get to Dietrich. By the time your laddermen get there, the nearby archers (and very possibly pikemen) will likely be dead. Sit back in the lookout tower and attack Sigenot. Now, just send your other laddermen to the other wall and then sail straight over towards Dietrich. Don't worry if you don't have any laddermen left, you can just get to the top of the keep and wait for the timer to go to zero and then Dietrich will be freed regardless. Mission done - easy!
